This week I finished listening to Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen. The narrators are Saskia Maarleveld and Tad Branson.
This story follows Audrey Kidder as she tries, yet again, to impress her bosses and keep her job. The first farmer she runs into gives her a the hardest of times. His behavior party because of their history, but mostly because of her terrible overlords. Their past being that they hooked up when they were in college. The two clash together in sexual chemistry as well in their stubbornness.
This story is filled with witty banter, well written sex scenes, and delicious sounding food. Seriously, I swear I gained weight just thinking about it the sauces and sweet cakes. If there is one book I wish came with a cookbook it is this one.
Anyway, I really enjoyed Sarina's writing. The narrators also did a great job. They definitely set characters apart and brought their personalities to life.
I will be listening to this one again.

NAIL ART
Griff, the main male character, is the head of household after his father has passed. The farm he runs mainly consists of apples orchards. These small, delectable fruit plays an important role in this story. I decided to use this for inspiration.

First, a ünt peel off base coat.
I lost the picture of the finger nail that I was working on, but this is the product I used.
I prefer gel, however, if you allow this nail lacquer the dry for 30 minutes to an hour, it can work with gel polish.

After the peel off base coat was completely dry, I added Makartt gel base coat. I totally understand that two base coats make no sense. In my experience using a gel basecoat after a lacquer helps the gel polishes hold on better.

Next I used Née Jolie to paint my nails brown.
Top coat and cure. I used the Makartt topcoat, but forgot to take a picture. Adding a topcoat is important because we are going to use acrylic paint next.

I have been slowly increasing my acrylic paint collection. Unfortunately, I have few; mostly, the basic primary colors. Due to this, I had to spend a lot of time mixing to get the right colors. A lot of trial and error went into this one. I had an especially difficult time getting slightly different colors for my accent nail.
